Koh Chang | Travel - How To Get Here

Koh Chang is just over 300km east from Bangkok. The island sits in the Gulf Of Thailand (part of the South China Sea) and shares a marine border with Cambodia.

Getting to the island is very easy. Whether you're coming directly to Koh Chang or travelling from other parts of Thailand, you will more than likely first transit through Bangkok. The only way to avoid the heart attack that is Bangkok is to fly directly from either Phuket or Koh Samui.

BY TAXI

A more expensive way to travel by road, but certainly quicker than the bus. Depending on your bartering skills you should be able to get a taxi from Bangkok to Trat for around 2,500 - 3,500 Th.Baht. A good idea is to get a Thai to help you bargain with the taxi driver.

Take the exit for Highway 344 which will then lead you back to Highway 3 avoiding the road into Pattaya. To leave Highway 3 a second time take the exit for Highway 3156 for Laem Ngop coastal road.
