SHORE ISLANDS (Koh
Chang National Marine Park)
KOH
KOOD
(Koh Kut)
Off the southern coast of Koh Chang, Koh Kood has now become a tourist
destination in it's own right and for all those in the are is a
must-see. The island is blessed with spectacular mountains and waterfalls,
the best known being Nam Tok Klong Chao.
Koh
Kood's beaches are as good as any on Koh Chang, all with pure white
sand and lined with coconut trees. The best bays and beaches are
Ao Pak Waeng, Ao Klong Ta Tin, Ao Klong Yai Kee and on the west
coast, plus Ao Klong Chao, Ao Sapparot and Ao Klong Kwaen on the
east coast.
The
island has a good selection of accommodation available for all budgets.
OTHER
ISLANDS
Other highlights include Koh Mak, Koh Rayang Nai, Koh Rayang Nok,
Koh Lao Ya and Koh Wai. All of these are at the southern end of
Koh Chang, between Koh Chang and Koh Kood. Most have accommodation
available for overnight stays or can be visited as day trips.
WATERFALLS
NAM
TOK THAN MAYOM
(Than Mayom Waterfall)
On the east coast of the island, Than Mayom has two famous stones
with the inscriptions of King Rama VI and King Rama VII. At the
top of the falls (about a 45 mins along the footpath) is a great
view over the island.
NAM
TOK KLONG PU
(Klong Phu Waterfall)
About an hours walk from either Klong Prao Beach or Kai Bae Beach,
but certainly worth the effort! Once you get there you can swim
in the pool at the bottom of the 20m falls.
Note: 200 Th.B entrance fee for tourists (20 Th.B for Thais...!!!)
NAM
TOK KLONG NEUNG
(Klong Nueng Waterfall)
Falling from a height of over 100m, is a great spot to chill out
and relax. Arguably the most beautiful of all Koh Chang's waterfalls.
